Christmas Card

1991 (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

This Christmas greetings card, a colour xerox of an image by Hockney, was sent to his friends by the artist in 1991. The image of a landscape with great chunks missing from the hills, combined with the caption: Try and have a merry Christmas this year, 1991' is clearly an allusion to the absence of loved ones who have died through having contracted AIDS.
