This bust of a woman in white marble is made by Giovanni Caccini (1556-1612/13), who was trained in both architecture and sculpture. He worked as a portraitist mainly in Florence.

The head shows analogies with the head of Caccini's St. Agnes in the Strozzi Chapel, Santa Trinità in Florence.

The head, which has a flat back, is turned slightly to the left. The eyes are lowered, and the hair is parted in the centre, with a veil or cap on it.
