Historical context
Possibly executed after the Red Sea survey on a subsequent voyage to India. Another view of Maculla, after Moresby, reproduced in F.R. Chesney, Expedition for the Survey of the Rivers Euphrates and Tigris, 1850, Vol.I, Pl.XLIII, facing p.637, lithograph titled Town of Maculla.
