Physical description
Three refurbished costume designs by Attilio Comelli for Principal Nobles labelled D, E and F in Giacomo Meyerbeer's opera Les Huguenots. Three male figures wearing doublets, hose, capes and hats. Nobles D and E are dressed in green and white, and Noble F in burgundy. Signed and dated 1910.

  • '3 NOBLES / PRINCIPALS' (Inscribed in red ink, lower right corner.)
  • '1910 / D. De Cossé, D'Oisly / F DE RETZ, Sampieri / E DE RETZ, Sampieri' (Inscribed red ink and pencil on reverse. Inscribed in a hand-drawn table as a list of the cast members in 1910. De Cossé was played by Maurice D'Oisly and De Retz by Michele Sampieri.)
