19th century (made)
Artist/Maker | |
Place of origin |
Earrings were popular among all the Slav peoples, from Russia to the Balkans.
These earrings are typical of the southern Balkans. Their pendants are made from rings of coiled silver. This technique is also often found in traditional buttons from Dalmatia, and in necklace pendants. The circular wire, and hinged pendant with coral beads are found much more widely, and are characteristic of traditional earrings throughout the Slav area.
