Place of origin |
This sketch was made during a live sketching workshop at the V&A at incredibly rapid speed by the Brighton-based illustrator, author, poet performer and teacher Curtis Tappenden. Since he visits many circuses and has made hundreds of lightning drawings capturing the moment at the ringside, he was asked to lead the workshop at the museum on Sunday, 29 April, during the Performance Festival.
Event assistant Carolyn Addelman was spinning plates while members of the workshop, including its leader Curtis, sketched her in action. Later the students attended a performance of Little Mermaid by Metta Theatre in the Lydia and Manfred Gorvy Lecture Theatre and put their morning's teaching into more practice.
