Decoration: large ‘puzzle’ initials in red and blue, the height of 2 lines of music and text with penwork ornaments and half-fleur-de-lys running down the left-hand edge of the text with pen flourishing (ff. 1r, 2r, 3r).

(1) Annotated in a 17th-century script stating that the leaves are extracted from a choir book from the Charterhouse of Champmol, near Dijon (inscription: 'Extrait d'un livre de chant de la chartreuse de Champ-mol près Dijon'). (2) Bought in 1895 together with a 1578 Gradual printed by G. Chaudiere for the Charterhouse of Gaillon (corresponding to NAL 19-1895). |
