Place of origin |
Jeong Eunjin is the eldest daughter of the ottchil artist Chung Hae Cho, who created the ‘Five coloured Luster 0831’ in the V&A's Korean collection. Artist in her own right, Jeong produces an affordable range of lacquerware that can be used daily as great alternative to ceramics. This coffee cup was initially designed by her father who drew inspiration from burial stoneware from the Three Kingdoms’ Period (37BC-668). Jeong refined the cup’s design, keeping the shape simple but using raw ottchil for coating the inside of the cup. Its mat and transparent finish emphasizes the striking grain of the ash wood.
