In 1930s diamond jewellery the geometric ornament became much more rounded and three dimensional than had been the case in the previous decade. Here the angularity of baguette-cut diamonds arranged in rigid parallel lines is given a softness and fullness by varying the angles at which the bands of stones are set. This also increases the play of light within the diamonds.

Physical description

Ring with a cylindrical bezel, made up of seven parallel bands of baguette-cut diamonds. An undulating profile is created by the angling of the bands and their different widths.
