This blue and white bowl is a double-wall vessel, intended to hold hot water. It is an example of the mass-produced blue and white porcelain made in the large factories of Jingdezhen in southern China. In them hundreds of people were involved in the shaping, painting, glazing and firing of porcelain for the domestic and export markets.
