  • A.S. Cole's revision, 1888 BAG of coarse linen, embroidered with green, blue, red and white silks, in long stitch, in diaper pattern of squares and crossed line forms. German. 14th centy. 3½ in. sq. Bought (Bock Colln). 8699-1863 This is similar to patterns on specimens Nos. 8305-1863 and 262-1861. It may have been used as a reliquary or for carrying rosary beads.(1888)
