The vase is decorated with the three star-gods – Shou Xing (long life), Fu Xing (happiness) and Lu Xing (wealth) – and other good-luck patterns. The long inscription tells us that the vase was one of a pair displayed in front of Guan Di, the protector of the empire, in a temple in Fuzhou, Jiangxi province.
