Physical description
Costume design by Wilhelm for an Ancestor in Ruddigore. Watercolour drawing of a man in Charles II costume, standing in front of a parapet with a column to right and a view of trees and sky beyond. He wears a black shoulder length wig and a pale lavender-grey jacket and full breeches with a full-sleeved white shirt, the sleeves and breeches trimmed in maroon. A swag of gold-coloured drapery falls from right across the parapet. Inscribed in ink, '1670', upper left hand corner, with costume details written down the left hand side. Signed.
