The optical effects of dense linear patterns, layered and in varying orientations, are explored in this necklace by Glasgow jeweller Lynne MacLachlan. Her ‘Phase’ jewellery uses a combination of digital technology and traditional hand-crafting: the form and texture are achieved by 3D printing; while hand-dying both in a block colour and as dip-dying creates the gradations within her vivid colour schemes.
