Historical context
A copy, with variations and omitting the figures, of Ruines du Temple d'Hermopolis, Pl.XI in Denon, Voyage dans la Haute et la Basse Égypte, Bagster edn., 1809. For suggested attributions, see Searight Archive. The temple was discovered by Napoleon's French savants, but destroyed in 1822.
