Physical description | Gold metal helmet [brass?] with a cream horsehair plume. There is a metal emblem at the centre front marked with the motto associated with the Order of the Garter (Honi soit qui mal y pense). A metal Tudor rose is positioned to the left and right side of the exterior and a chin strap, formed from leather and decorated with an interlinked chain of metal loops runs from each side, underneath. The interior of the helmet is not lined, but was previously padded with foam (now breaking down). |
