Warp: white wool; Z2S; 20 threads per inch (80 per dm).
Weft: brown wool; Z-spun, unplied; 2 shoots (sometimes 3) after each row of knots; 12 knots per inch (50 per dm); plain weave has weft in dark red, red and light red wool.
Pile: wool; 7 colours: red, yellow, green, dark blue, blue, brown, white; symmetrical knot tied around 2 warp threads; 120 knots per sq. inch (2000 per sq. dm)
Side finish: both pile sides have 1 cord oversewn with brown weft; both plain weave sides have returned weft. The sides are stitched together with blocks of white and dark brown wool in a fishbone type stitch.
End finish:
Lower: missing.
Upper: 3 bands of chevron pattern, each 2cm deep and separated by several passes of white/brown wool; the first band is of red/blue wool and the outside band is of brown/green, the middle band being divided into 7 blocks by 6 slits each 2cm long - the blocks are of various colours.
Design:
Field: white ground with 2.5 bands of sprigs of one blossom and 2 leaves.
Main border: dark blue ground with rosettes.
Inner border: green/red reciprocal triangles.
