Sally Greaves-Lord is renowned for hand painted and discharge printed silk banners of large scale abstract imagery inspired by landscapes.
Greaves-Lord studied textiles at the West Surrey College of Art and Design from 1977 to 1980 as well as the Royal College of Art. Upon graduating in 1982 she established her first workshop in London. From 1985 to 1991 she worked as Creative Director at Issey Miyake UK Limited. In the 1980s she worked in a dramatic self imposed neutral palette of black, greys and browns but after moving to North Yorkshire in 1991 she introduced vibrant colours into her work.
