Chintz Yoke

ca. 1710-1720 (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

The large-scale design is more appropriate to a wall- or bed-hanging and this small garment was no doubt made out of such a hanging. This was normal practice in Holland in the early 18th century. The design recalls that of French 'bizarre' silks of the period.
