Multi-colour hand-knitted Shetland woollen jumper in earthy rich shades of brown and claret, blue, puce, and white. Ruched stripes knitted into the fabric.

Bands of multi-coloured geometric patterns in stocking stitch alternate with ruched bands in reverse stocking stitch. The ribbing at the lower edge and at the wrists is in a twisted stitch. The neck is finished with crocheted scallops and small openings on either side are fastened with metal-edged pearl buttons.

Sasha Kagan is known for her striking patterns and original use of colour. Her classic shaped garments remain constantly in fashion. She runs a cottage industry employing outworkers near her home in the mountains of central Wales - this sweater was knitted by Mrs G. Casewell. T.105-1981(1985)
