"With the exception of the preface and the treatise on urines, the Grete Herball is a translation of the French Grant Herbier or Arbolayre." cf. Hunt.
"The source was, at least in the main, Le grand herbier." cf Arber: Herbals.
Contains a treatise on urines and an index to remedies.
"The exposicyo of the wordes obscure and euyll knowen", pp. [325-330].
[348] p., with illustrations.
Black letter, double column. Woodcuts of plants, animals and genre scenes, pictorial and ornamental woodcut initials.
Stained calf binding, sprinkled edges. Repaired.
