Brief description
Trousers designed by Paul Brown, worn by the character Albanact and similar to those worn by Howard Ward in the title role in Purcell's opera King Arthur, co-production between the Royal Opera House, London and the Théâtre du Châtelet, Paris. It opened at the Royal Opera House in May 1995.
Physical description
White silk trousers with stencilled with a pattern of red circles. The interior is lined with white cotton. The trousers are full at the hips, but taper towards the ankle. There is a lycra gusset at the rear crotch and white braces are attached to the inside of the waistband (these are made from button hole elastic). They fasten at the centre front with a zip, hook and bar.

A label at the interior of the centre back waist reads: 'King Arthur/R.Avery/Albanact'
