Book object, ceramic in character, moulded like part of a tree trunk. Painted in yellow, blue and charcoal grey it stand upright by means of a light blue coloured semi-circular ceramic stand that can be attached to its base. One of an edition of three.
A lip in the 'tree trunk' holds a small booklet made out of hand-made paper within which are portrayed the artists' reponses to her placement exercise in the National Art Library and her disability.
Donated by a student from the Sussex Coast College Hastings after a short internship at the National Art Library to study book art as part of her Foundation Degree. "The work explores her physical and emotional responses to the placement experience, particularly regarding (her) disability (Multiple Sclerosis)"--Book Arts Newsletter no.57 May 2010 p.37.
