Tom Spooner is a London-based illustrator and graphic artist. He has a BA in Illustration & Visual Communication from the University of Westminster, and an MA in Visual Communication at the Royal College of Art. Spooner was awarded the Runner-Up prize in the Student Category of the V&A Illustration Awards 2017 for this series, Towards an Infinite Place. Spooner is interested in what he describes as “superficially unremarkable sites”, deserted liminal urban/suburban places which nevertheless evoke a sense of belonging and memory. All of the prints in the series are based on photographs taken by the artist in the course of evening walks in his native south-west London.
