Brooch
2004 (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Susan Cross works principally with gold and silver wire to produce work that explores ideas of line, texture and layering, with oxidized silver wire used like an ‘inky line’. This brooch illustrates her innovative use of textile techniques to create semi-transparent structures that allow the play of light and shadow when worn on the body. In 2007 she was awarded joint first prize in the Jerwood Applied Arts Prize.
