Stereoscopic daguerreotype of 'Bacchante', a statue by Jean-August Barré exhibited at the Crystal Palace - probably in the Great Exhibition. This sculpture is now on the exterior of the Louvre Museum. The daguerreotype plates are in a black mount with two rectangular arched windows. This is glazed in a later passe-partout frame - it was rebound in December 1981.
