Stereoscopic daguerreotype of a sculpture of 'The First Whisper of Love' made by William Calder Marshall in 1845. The daguerreotype plates are in a black mount with two rectangular windows. This is glazed in a later passe-partout frame - a modern note on the back states that there is no original casing, and it was rebound in new materials in October 1981.
