Physical description

Hand-tinted stereoscopic daguerreotype of a three-quarter length portrait of a seated woman, wearing a lace cap with a swathe of patterned fabric in her lap. The jewellery around her neck has been picked out in gold. The daguerreotype plates are in a black mount with two rectangular arched windows. This is glazed in a later passe-partout frame with black tape edging.
