Indoor firework container, a cylinder of card laminated with colour-printed paper. The sides of the tube are decorated with illustrations, in red, yellow, blue, white and black, of Alice, The Mad Hatter, The Duchess and The March Hare. The tube is mounted on a blue card disc, which has a larger diameter than the tube. On the base is a printed paper sheet of instructions for use.

With the container are ten small toys, all made from blow-moulded cellulose nitrate. Most are painted with colours, some are articulated with string. The characters represent: Alice (tall); Alice (small); The Mad Hatter; The King of Hearts; The Duchess. Also in the container is an elephant; a small dog; a whistle shaped like an orange parrot, with small metal wheels.

Physical description
Indoor firework container, a cylinder of card laminated with colour-printed paper. Object history
Bequeathed by Lois Anne Clater. 'Peerless Trading' was a fancy goods shop and toy importer located in Harrogate, Yorkshire, the business was owned by Albert Edward Conway. Lois Anne Clater was the daughter of Albert Edward Conway, and it was from her the Museum received four objects (see B.48 to 51-2017). The family believe these toys were originally acquired as trade samples for Peerless Trading, and that they were not played with.
