Daguerreotype made directly from a painting called 'The Christening of Victoria, Princess Royal, 10 February 1841' by Charles Robert Leslie in 1841-2, which was painted for Queen Victoria and is now in the Royal Collection (RCIN 404467). The daguerreotype is in a cream card mount and glazed. The verso of the object is backed with paper and tape. The mount and glazing are held together with a black tape edging.
