Day ensemble consisting of a jacket, dress, hat, bag and mirror.

The jacket is made of ribbed beige woollen cloth. It is hip-length and loosely cut with a hook-and-eye cross over fastening at the low waist. The collar is straight and folds away to this fastening. It is trimmed with fine machine-stitched tucks which descend vertically from a pointed yoke on the two fronts and on the back. The pockets are horizontal with wide button down flaps. The sleeves are wrist-length, wide and loose with a narrow band of vertical tucking above the wide cuff. Lined with matching silk.

The dress is made of ribbed beige woollen cloth. It is straight-cut with a buckled ribbon tab at either side of the low waist below which is a slanting slit-pocket and there is a wide panel of horizontal machine-stitched tucking on the centre front and back of the dress. The neck is medium-low and bound with four round soft self-covered buttons to fasten it in the front. The sleeves are wide and would reach below the elbow. Theya re trimmed with a narrow panel of horizontal tucking. Lined to the waist with jap silk. N.B. The term 'Jap silk' has largely fallen from usage and may be considered offensive. It described a type of silk similar to habotai.

The bag is made of beige crêpe silk, and is rectangular with square mount with brass catch. It is horizontally tucked and has a strap on the back to hold it. Inside is a change purse and a mirror.

The hat is made of dark brown guaged velvet with soft crown and narrow brim. It is trimmed with a matching feather and band.
