Daguerreotype of a marble bust of a man, possibly a copy after a Greco-Roman original, resting on a textile-covered support. The daguerreotype is in a gold-coloured mount with an oval window and a 'BEARD PATENTEE' stamp at the bottom, and glazed. The plates were taped together, but the later addition of shiny gold tape has lost its adhesive. The plates are thus loose.

Physical description
Daguerreotype of a marble bust of a man, possibly a copy after a Greco-Roman original, resting on a textile-covered support. The daguerreotype is in a gold-coloured mount with an oval window and a 'BEARD PATENTEE' stamp at the bottom, and glazed. The plates were taped together, but the later addition of shiny gold tape has lost its adhesive. The plates are thus loose.

  • Green sticker with '79' stuck on the back of the case. 'No. 39' handwritten in black ink on the back of the case.
  • BEARD PATENTEE (Stamped onto the bottom of the mount.)
  • before 1850 RPS 2377 (Scratched into the back of the daguerreotype plate.)
