Daguerreotype of a full-length portrait of a young child. This daguerreotype is in a gold-coloured mount with an oval-shaped window and gold detailing framing the image. This daguerreotype is in a leather-coated wooden case with a metal hook fastening, lined with a (faded) red velvet embossed with a scrolling vine design. The case cover (front and back) is highly decorated with an embossed floral and scolling vine design. The pad of faded red velvet that lines the cover of the case is loose, and the hinge of the case is very fragile. There is a small piece of leather that has accidentally stuck onto the front of the case.
