Colour Scale Developed with Acid Pyro and Silver

Photograph
mid 19th century (photographed)

Daguerreotype with 15 samples of colours that have been developed using pyro and acetone. There are three rows of samples, with 5 on each row (though the sample in the bottom right is not visible). These samples are numbered, which correspond with the numbered colours that annotate the plates on the card mount. The plates (RPS.384:1-2017 and RPS.384:2-2017) are strapped into the card mount using two strips of card. This has been later secured with the addition of plastic straps.
