Object history
This ensemble comes to us from the wardrobe of Princess George Galitzine (1925-2016), who, as Jean Dawnay, was a successful fashion model during the 1950s before her marriage. At the time of her death, she was described by The Daily Telegraph as one of the last surviving "supermodels" of the 1950s. These garments are donated to us in her memory by her daughter.
