Place of origin |
Full-length kimono-style dress of pearl satin. On each side a triangular shape crosses the front and back of the bodice, extending outwards to form a kimono sleeve.
The bodice is stitched into a cummerbund, which is stiffened and boned on the inside to pull tight across the diaphragm, and fastens with a warp-over back, secured with velcro under the left sleeve.
The very full skirt is sewn into this in deep folds and is stiffened with a lining of net. It opens from the waist down the centre back with a zip, secured at the top with a hook.
