This is Adrian Smith’s quick first sketch for the 201 Bishopsgate building and Broadgate Tower, drawn in red ink on the agenda paper for a general meeting held on 4 May 2004 about the Trump Hotel and Tower, Chicago, which Smith at SOM was designing and building at the time.

The two buildings, the low-rise 13-storey 201 Bishopsgate, and the 35-storey Broadgate Tower were built just north of London’s Liverpool Station and completed in 2009.
