This reclining female figure dressed in elaborate and colourful clothes with a moveable head on a rod which nods when touched was made in China during the 18th Century. It is made of moulded porcelain and is painted with coloured enamels.

Physical description

With removable head on a long counterbalanced stem allowing the head to rotate and nod. Leaning with one arm on a pillow and legs crossed. The figure is dressed in a long tunic with a Mandarin collar, padded trousers and shoes that suggest bound feet. The figure is moulded with a flat unglazed base.
