This hand-painted paper peepshow of a beach scene with fishermen and women has been attributed to Maria Graham (later Lady Calcott) because of its similarity with another paper peepshow in the collection. The other peepshow, entitled View of L'Angostura de Paine in Chile (Gestetner 228), is based on a print which illustrated Graham's Journal of a residence in Chile during the year 1822; and a voyage from Chile to Brazil in 1823 (London: Longman & John Murray, 1824).
On the beach are women and men with baskets, a dog and a donkey. Sail boats and fishermen occupy the mid-ground, against a seascape with a castle that resembles St. Micheal's Mount. On the back of the peepshow is a hand written title: 'Sea View'.
