Toque of lilac chiffon on a straw base with a wired frame, which is higher on the right hard side. The side of the hat is covered in tiny artificial violets of multi-coloured silk protected with fine wide-mesh violet net.

It is lined with cream satin and at the back is a strip of cream velvet through which a thin ribbon is passed to gather in the circumference of the hat.
