Cabinet of oak painted with floral and other designs; in front are doors enclosing seven drawers and a central cupbaord; the pedimented top, which is detached, is fitted with a small central drawer. The whole of the outside and the cupboard doors are painted with flowers, fruit and birds on black ground. The drawers are painted with conventional designs in yellow and fitted with brass drop handles. Partly repainted.

Physical description
Cabinet of oak painted with floral and other designs; in front are doors enclosing seven drawers and a central cupbaord; the pedimented top, which is detached, is fitted with a small central drawer. The whole of the outside and the cupboard doors are painted with flowers, fruit and birds on black ground. The drawers are painted with conventional designs in yellow and fitted with brass drop handles. Partly repainted.

Object history
17th century painted oak cabinet, purchased for £22 from C H F Kinderman, 5 Arlington Street, St James' London SW1. Condition: "Partly repainted: the interior of some of the drawers is renewed" (R.Ps 19/3645).

Previously on long-term loan to Tamworth Castle from May 1983 - Feb 2006 (RP 94/2082).
