Otron

Action Figure
1978 (manufactured)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Boxed action figure representing a robot or mecha. The body and legs are of painted die-cast metal, whilst the arms are made from injection-moulded polyethylene. The lower parts of both arms are spring-loaded and can be launched by pressing the button which projects forwards and backwards from the upper arms. The upper arms are jointed at the shoulders, allowing movement forwards, backwards, up and down. There are two rotor-shaped projectiles which can be fitted to a spigot in the centre of the chest, and launched by fitting the polyethylene mouthpiece into a socket in the figure's back and blowing.

With the figure is its original box, which has a clear plastic front window and a polystyrene insert to hold the figure and all its parts. The sides of the box are printed with the other items available in the 'Space Warrior' range, and the back with operating instructions for the figure's features.
