Twelve fabric swatches mounted in a buff card booklet. The booklet is folded vertically down the centre with six rectangular fabric samples on each side.
On the left hand side:
1. Black silk cotton
2. Imitation horse hair
3. Crossed or glazed beige satin
4. Striped brown sateen
5. Plain pale pink sateen
6. Plain brown sateen for furnishing.
On the right hand side:
1. Smooth andrinople (a fabric made with red madder dye)
2. Patterned fabric with a floral motif over a squared background, in black on white, with a darker reversed pattern on the back
3. Pink fine percale
4. Sateen with abstract irregular pattern of pale lilac with darker patches, with a darker reversed pattern on the back
5. Black Chinese cotton satin
6. Dark brown Alsatian jaconet (a lightweight cotton cloth with a smooth and slightly stiff finish)
The samples are attached to the booklet by a small area of adhesive that has been applied to the left hand edge, allowing each swatch to be lifted up, revealing information printed below.
The name of the fabric is printed above each swatch and more details, such as the available colours and intended use, are printed underneath. Details of the lengths and prices of the fabric are printed in a small square box to the right of each sample.
