Physical description

Ensemble. Silk dress printed with an optical black and white spot pattern, skirt with faux wrap-over panel in front and elbow length sleeves. Black wild-silk coat in a loose trapeze style with flared bracelet sleeves, the lining to match the dress print.

Object history note

This outfit was worn by Mrs. Thatcher (by then, Baroness Thatcher of Kesteven) to the UK Commemorative Service for Northern Ireland Operations at St Paul's Cathedral in September 10, 2008. At this event the Baroness was photographed in the company of Labour Prime Ministers Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, and other key British political figures.
