View of a garden, with a long flight of grassy steps, centre right, rising gradually from the foreground to a distant point. At foreground, left, are trimmed hedges, with, beyond, a bridge. At foreground, right, is a garden seat with griffin armrests. A letter lies on the ground at the foot of the steps. The steps are edged by pink flowering shrubs, with trees to right. In the distance are further trees. At the top of the steps stands the black-clad figure of Malvolio. Signed.
