Mon Ami...

Lithograph
ca. 1860 (published)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

The poses of the two figures suggest a relationship which has lost its sparkle. The wife says: My dear, one of my woman friends who has been to Switzerland, and who is very good at drawing, has just sent me a sketchbook showing all the most beautiful views in that country.
The husband replies: She is kind. In that case we won't need to go to Switzerland next year as you requested [after all].
