Aldo Rossi (3 May 1931 – 4 September 1997) was an Italian architect and designer who achieved international recognition in four distinct areas: architectural theory, drawing and design and also product design. He was one of the leading exponents of the postmodern movement.

He was the first Italian to receive the Pritzker Prize for architecture.

Brief description
Press filter coffee maker, stainless steel and heat resistant glass, Italy, Milan, made by Alessi s.p.a., designed by Aldo Rossi, 1986.
Physical description
The body is a cylindrical sleeve of stainless steel, pierced by a series of long, rectangular perforations round the middle. The base has a recessed centre. The handle is an L-shaped strip of metal attached to the side. The container is a glass cylinder of heat resistant glass which extends above the stainless steel holder. The spout is an extruded lip in the rim of the glass sleeve. The lid is a plain circular disc with a stepped flange. Its centre has a plain, raised circular moulding through which the plunger passes. The filter is attached to one end of the plunging rod and comprises of two discs.
