Physical description
Photographic portrait of the actress Nellie Farren (1848-1904) in the title role of Aladdin, at the Gaiety Theatre. It features a three quarter length portrait of Farren whose gaze is directed over her left shoulder towards a point in the distance. She is holding a tall, narrow staff between her hands and is wearing a close fitting, sleeveless, tunic style bodice with a wide skirt, over shorts which are edged with hanging strands of beads.
