Brief description | 'Shibari' girdle dress by Bordelle, Britain, London, 2015 |
Gallery label | The art of bondage
The materials and construction of this dress transforms the classic corset, while losing none of its intrinsic eroticism. Satin elastic bands, rather than bones, cinch the waist and a zip replaces laces.
The Japanese verb shibari means to tie. Today, it refers to an artistic form of erotic bondage in which geometric patterns are created with ropes or bands on the body's curves to create an emotional and physiological response.
