Watercolour and bodycolour over pencil on paper set design for a production of The Yeomen of the Guard, ca. 1940. The design features a cut cloth or proscenium arch that is a large stone archway. The back cloth depicts the White Tower at the Tower of London. There are two Beefeaters standing on either side of the stage and an executioner at the centre.
